define Keyword Stuffing

Definition:

The act of adding way too many keywords to a page in either the text or meta information.

Generally refers to the act of adding an inordinate number of keyword terms into the HTML or tags of a web page.

The words are added for the ‘benefit’ of search engines and not human visitors. The words may or may not be visible to human visitors. In short, it is stuffing a page with numerous keywords for the sole purpose of confusing search engines.
